[AdvantEdge FEM Analysis Case] Example of Using Parallel Computing Options

Easy to execute due to SMP support! Adoption of parallel algorithms compatible with CPU architecture.

In "AdvantEdge FEM," the use of parallel computing options allows for a speedup in computation time. By accelerating computation time, it becomes possible to analyze large-scale models that were previously difficult to simulate in cutting simulations. We also present examples of analysis results used in other analysis software (LS-DYNA, Abaqus). [Case Overview] ■ Burr evaluation during intersecting hole machining ■ Hole machining on inclined surfaces ■ Analysis of deep hole machining ■ Chip evaluation analysis *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Case study: Hull strength analysis using the finite element method.

A full hull model close to the actual structure was created, and strength analysis of the model was conducted.

**Case Summary** ■Product Name: Simcenter Femap with Nastran ■Analysis: Linear Static Analysis ■Industry: Railways and Shipping Finite element method strength calculations are widely used in hull design. The hull structure, composed of many components such as decks, side plating, double bottoms, bulkheads, and longitudinal and transverse strength frames, is complex, making it difficult to analyze just a part of it. This example created a full model close to the actual structure and conducted a strength analysis of the entire hull model. - The mesh generation feature of Simcenter Femap allows for the creation of complex hull FEM models. - Creation and management of loads such as static/dynamic water pressure and cargo conditions. - Improved computational efficiency through continuous analysis of multiple load cases. - The parallel processing capability of Simcenter Nastran enables analysis of large-scale models. □ For other features and details, please refer to the catalog.

FEMFAT Plast Extension Module: Considering Local Plasticity

Calculating elasto-plastic stress from linear elastic analysis results.

EMFAT plast calculates the elastic-plastic stress around the notch area based on the results of linear elastic analysis using the Neuber correction. The Neuber rule is a method that demonstrates the relationship between linear and nonlinear stress and strain, allowing the representation of the Neuber hyperbola using Young's modulus E and nonlinear strain εplast. To represent the hysteresis loop of the cyclic stress-strain diagram (using the cyclic hardening coefficient K' and cyclic hardening exponent n'), the Ramberg-Osgood rule is used to calculate the nonlinear stress as the intersection point with the Neuber hyperbola. This eliminates the need for FE analysis considering material nonlinearity for local plasticity, allowing the elastic-plastic stress to be corrected with FEMFAT plast. Additionally, FEMFAT plast enables a reduction in computational effort for FE analysis. FEMFAT plast is compatible with FEMFAT basic, FEMFAT max, and FEMFAT spectral. *For more details, please download the PDF or contact us.*

[Case Study] Strength Analysis of Compressor 'AIFEM'

Efficiently analyze the strength of compressors with high precision! Achieve efficient design verification through smooth operability!

We will introduce a case study on the strength analysis of a compressor using the general-purpose finite element analysis software AIFEM. A compressor is a device that converts mechanical energy into fluid energy, consisting of multiple moving blades (rotors) and stationary blades (stators). The moving blades rotate at high speeds, compressing the gas within the flow path and increasing its energy. During this process, the impact of centrifugal force is particularly significant, necessitating high strength in the moving blades; therefore, strength analysis that adequately considers centrifugal force loading is crucial. With AIFEM's efficient pre-post processing and high-precision solver, we achieve a faster analysis process in development design and shorten the design cycle. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.*
